With a background in business administration and legal studies, Andrew Skinner-Ryan has a diverse practice at Sheldon Nathanson Law, where he has been a member of the team since 2019. Andrew earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (Double Concentration, Legal Studies & Human Resources) from Cape Breton University and went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the University of New Brunswick. He was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2020.

Andrew has a strong focus on corporate and commercial law, residential and commercial property, wills and estates, civil litigation, and administrative law. Over the course of his practice, Andrew has dealt with matters before various courts, including the Small Claims Court of Nova Scotia, the Provincial Court of Nova Scotia, the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, and the Federal Court. He takes a personalized approach to each case, working closely with clients to understand their unique needs and goals. In addition to his private practice, Andrew serves as a Per Diem Crown Attorney for the Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service.

Andrew is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society, the Cape Breton Barristers' Society, and the Canadian Bar Association. He stays informed on the latest developments in his field and is always striving to provide the best possible service to his clients.

Outside of his legal practice, Andrew has a passion for travel and exploring new places. He serves as both a Director and Vice-Chair for the Adult Learning Association of Cape Breton County (ALACBC). This non-profit has offered tuition-free literacy and GED preparation for adults in CBRM for over 30 years. Additionally, Andrew is a Director at the Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design, which plays a key role in the educational, promotional, and economic advancement of the craft sector on Cape Breton Island.
